Busy Weekend

Wow, what a busy weekend. It started out with a trip to the Cottage on Thursday night and a visit to the Portland store on Friday morning, and then off for the Hood to Coast run.

This was a fairly grueling event, running 18 miles in a 19 hour stretch, down the side of Mount Hood and eventually to the Ocean. I didn't run that all by myself, it's a relay race with 12 other runners, but my segment was the 18 miles. After finishing that, Fiona picked me up and we returned to the Cottage and hung out with Alison and Baby Jackson, and then we all went to dinner in downtown Portland with TK.

On Sunday we spent some time driving along the Columbia Gorge and then Fiona and I drove to Seattle. On Monday I visited my stores there, and Fiona did some shopping. We had planned to purchase an antique screen in downtown Seattle, but there was a fire alarm in the building and a big honkin' emergency, and long and short, we never got the screen.

Later in that evening, we went to see the Mariners game, against my beloved Angels. The Angels won in convincing fashion. We couldn't catch a bus home so we ended up walking back to the Hotel, and after a night's sleep, we drove back to Portland on Tuesday morning and met TK at the Cottage, where I gave him a haircut. Then I drove to Salem and went to work for the day and Fiona moved furniture and helped TK get ready for his trip to Scotland, where he will attend college this fall.
