Lions and Tigers and ... Giraffes and Zebras!

We are in South Africa for a few days now and have done and seen many interesting things. The biggest thrill so far is seeing Giraffes in the wild. We went to Kruger Nat'l Park and there are a bunch of wild animals. There are couple of pictures posted here. We also saw Zebras, an Elephant, wildebeasts, springboks, water buffaloes, Kudu (look it up) and some really gnarly big birds ... dude, look at those African birds! Gnarly, man! freakin thing is as large as a big dog!

One of the more amazing things was discovering that there are large forests of trees up in the mountains around here, with waterfalls and the whole bit. We didn't expect that, figuring it would be grasslands full of large African critters. We saw that too, and today are heading for Mozambique to visit another country. This was not on our original itinerary, but hey, we're so close, we'll go check it out.
