Dripping and Driving in Dakar

So we have a couple extra days here in Dakar; Senegal because we had to postpone our trip to Liberia and Sierra Leone; and we have spent some time now in Dakar the large sprawling capital of West Africa.
The reason I say dripping is because it is very hot and humid and with the slightest amount of activity; you are drenched with sweat; I mean like soaked to the point where you are dripping. It's an uncomfortable feeling for us from Oregon; where I understand it is currently cool and rainy.

So we are also driving around alot and it's kind of combat driving here; you really have to be on your toes; and brakes; and other driving options. There are no rules; at least if there are; no one follows them - it's every man for himself. And don't be afraid to use your horn!

We have been hanging out a lot with our friends from Oregon, Scotty and Crystal Kelley, pictured above. They are a great couple, and are going to stay in Senegal for a year. One of the things we did yesterday was to visit the Island of Goree, where the slaves were shipped to the Americas. It is a very emotional place.
